Another day, another step closer to what feels like an inevitable Thunder championship repeat. After all, who else looks as good? The Knicks are winning, but can’t avoid the injury bug, the Pistons still feel like they’re in the “on the rise” phase, and the media buzz isn’t strong enough to will Old Man LeBron to his own Last Dance without Luka. There’s still an awful lot of basketball to be played, so we’ll see. Speaking of Last Dance, Nike just dropped the prices on a bunch of Air Jordan 1s, and they’re selling out awfully fast.

It’s weird to call a pair of Air Jordans unpretentious, but it rings true in my head. After 40+ years of Nike basketball shoes evolving and transforming, there’s something comforting about getting back to basics with a pair of kicks that are almost more influential than the man who made them famous. After all, they made a movie about the creation of the shoe and didn’t even show MJ!
Honestly, I kind of prefer this mid-top edition of the Jordan 1. It’s a little more of a subtle profile while maintaining the iconic identity of the shoe that’s sure to make casual shoppers and sneakerheads alike happy.
