Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders was named to the Pro Bowl last year. A recent clip from a Browns’ minicamp practice makes that hard to believe.

A clip from Cleveland Browns practice went viral this week after defensive tackle Mike Hall batted down a Shedeur Sanders pass by standing there and extending his arm before Sanders even threw the ball.

Hall didn’t bother to jump, leap, or time his extended arm — he simply left his hand in the air and Sanders threw it directly into it.

NFL fans marveled at the play as something they’ve never seen before, further fueling that narrative that Sanders is not at the level that he nor his father Deion Sanders thinks he is.

During his rookie season, Sanders went 3-4 as a starter, completing 56.6% of his passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and a 68.1 passer rating. He was selected to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for New England Patriots QB Drake Maye, who could not participate in the event due to the Pats playing in the Super Bowl.

Sanders enters his second season in the NFL after being selected by the Browns in the 5th round of the 2025 NFL Draft in a quarterback competition with Deshaun Watson, with the disgraced signal-caller having missed the entirety of the 2025 season with a torn Achilles.

The Cleveland Browns will open their 2026 season on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, September 13 at 1 p.m. EST.
