Sophie Cunningham’s signature sneaker sold out instantly
Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham is having a massive moment, as she’s added millions of followers to her social media accounts in recent months. Cunningham’s signature sneaker also sold out in most men’s and women’s sizes in just about an hour.
While 29-year-old Sophie Cunningham doesn’t light up the stat sheet — she’s averaging 9.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in roughly 22 minutes per game — she’s still one of the WNBA’s most popular players.

Already one of the most talked-about players in the league, Cunningham became even more of a lightning rod this season with comments about transgender athletes in youth sports.
Those comments have spiked Cunningham’s popularity among those with similar beliefs — including Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who publicly backed Cunningham’s remarks on social media.
Cunningham’s social media has also seen the benefits of her recent public behavior, as she has added over 1 million followers on Instagram and 1 million followers on TikTok in the last 30 days, according to
“I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think that with that love is truth, being honest. And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men,” Cunningham said in an interview with ESPN.
Cunningham also produced arguably the most viral moment of the 2026 WNBA season so far. During a game against the Phoenix Mercury on June 22, Fever star Caitlin Clark — whom Cunningham acts as a bit of an “enforcer” for — and DeWanna Bonner got tangled up.
Cunningham approached the referee to question why Clark received a technical foul while Bonner did not, gesturing with her finger. Bonner snapped at Cunningham and told her not to point at her, which prompted Cunningham to lock eyes with Bonner and point at her for nearly 30 straight seconds.
Last week, her player-exclusive “Crazy Energy” basketball shoes sold out on the Adidas website, in both men’s and women’s sizes, in under an hour on Thursday. The shoes are retailing for $110.
Cunningham also hosts the Show Me Something podcast alongside childhood friend and Bravo reality TV star West Wilson and appeared in this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
