Speculation Growing That Chris Paul Might Not Be A Golden State Warrior By The Start Of The Season

During this NBA offseason, there has been no more surprising move made than the Golden State Warriors trading Jordan Poole away in exchange for Chris Paul.

It brought an end to the team’s issues between Poole and Draymond Green that may have been responsible for derailing their 2022-23 season, but not for the kind of return fans would have expected.

Paul’s addition makes an old team even older and he plays a position that they already have pretty well covered with Stephen Curry.

However, there may be the chance that the Warriors aren’t done making moves involving Paul this offseason.

On today’s episode of East Coast Bias, John House speculated that the Warriors could end up trading Paul before the start of next season.

“I’m still skeptical about whether or not Chris Paul is on this team come October the 12th, 13th, or whenever the season starts. He could make a huge difference on a bunch of teams,” House said. “I mean, I think he would be amazing on Miami. I think he could be incredible potentially in Boston. There are teams out there that Chris Paul can definitely help.”

There had been some who believed the Warriors would end up buying Paul out, but that made no sense with the price they paid to bring him in.

Trading Chris Paul makes a whole lot more sense.

The Golden State Warriors definitely still have some deficiencies to fix this offseason and maybe they can trade Paul to find the right pieces.

Paul isn’t a great fit as another non-scorer on a team that started Draymond Green and Kevon Looney last season, but there are other teams out there who certainly benefit from bringing Paul in and might be willing to fill a need for the Warriors to get him.
