Prior to tonight’s NBA draft, disgruntled superstar Kawhi Leonard, who is pissed off at the Spurs for misdiagnosing his quad injury last season among other things, met with head coach in San Diego to discuss his future with the team. According to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Leonard told Popovich that he doesn’t want to be in San Antonio anymore.

From what my sources tell me, Kawhi Leonard met with Gregg Popovich face-to-face and told him “I don’t want to be here, I don’t want to be in San Antonio any longer.

Despite Kawhi’s meeting with Popovich it appears the Spurs are not in any rush to trade him anytime soon.

Spurs are willing listeners on Kawhi Leonard trade proposals, but haven’t been proactive in chasing down offers, league sources tell ESPN. For now, make an offer and they’ll add it to their board. Spurs and Lakers have had no dialogue on Leonard.

It appears that Kawhi is going to force his way to the Lakers either this season or next season and the Spurs might be willing to drag this out into the season. It could be a long season for the Spurs if Kawhi decides to quit on the team again.

Update: The Lakers have told Ramona Shelburne that the Lakers have shut the door on them.
