High school football is back, with games already underway in select states. But, the season did not start on a high note for storied program St. Frances Academy (MD), as the team lost its opener and then got in a fight.
St Frances Academy, located in Baltimore, has been putting a ton of kids into the power five. In a two-year span in the classes of 2022 and 2023, they had at least seven players sign to the power Five on the defensive line alone.
That’s garnered them national attention and national rankings. Coming into their season opener against #10 Buford (GA), St. Frances Academy was ranked #6 in the country by MaxPreps.
But, things did not go to plan. The team, led by Oregon commit quarterback Michael Van Buren, was shut out 18-0 by Buford. But, that won’t be the story. This will be.

That’s not a good look for either program, and I’m sure suspensions will be coming. Plus, college coaches can’t be impressed, either.
