Two years ago, Saint Peter’s (NJ) captured the hearts of America when they made an incredible run to the Elite Eight. And, they are now just one game away from being in the NCAA Tournament field again.

Saint Peter’s upset Quinnipiac, the top seed in the MAAC, in the semifinals of the MAAC Tournament with an awesome buzzer-beater.

With the game tied at 60, Saint Peter’s had the ball and a chance to win. After a great drive to the by Roy Clarke, Momahed Sow put it back up and in as time expired to send the Peacocks to the championship game.

Back in 2022, Saint Peter’s stunned everyone as a #15 seed when they beat John Calipari and Kentucky in the first round. Then, they beat Murray State to advance to the Sweet 16, where they upset Purdue. Ultimately, they lost in the Elite Eight to North Carolina, 69-49, but they had as memorable run as any 15-seed ever.

Coach Shaheen Holloway has moved on to coach at his alma mater, Seton Hall. But, his replacement, Bashir Mason, has them back on the right track and just one game away from the NCAA Tournament.

They’ll take on the winner of Fairfield and Marist Saturday’s championship game.
