Stephen A. Smith Puts Daniel Jones And The NY Giants In A Body Bag On ‘First Take’

Stephen A. Smith on First Take discussing Daniel Jones

ESPN / First Take

Stephen A. Smith didn’t mince words on Tuesday’s First Take while tearing into Daniel Jones, the New York Giants, and the NFL.

After the New York Giants got worked over on Monday Night Football by the Seahawks, Stephen A. Smith couldn’t contain himself any longer. He let loose on Daniel Jones who threw 2 interceptions and 0 touchdowns on MNF while getting blown out at Met Life Stadium, the second New York team to lose in that stadium within 24 hours.

Daniel Jones is 22-35-1 as a starter for the Giants. He’s thrown 62 touchdowns and 40 interceptions. That didn’t stop the Giants from offering Daniel Jones a 4 year, $160,000,000 contract that keeps him at Met Life Stadium through 2026…

Stephen A. Smith Unloads On Daniel Jones And The New York Giants

A large part of what set Stephen A. Smith off after Monday Night Football was the exposure. The New York Giants are simply not a good enough team right now to be featured in primetime.

Stephen A. said “I’m not blaming the New York Giants, I’m blaming the National Football League… Why the hell are they on national television?”

Stephen A. Smith also astutely pointed out that Daniel Jones is a whopping 1-12 as a starter in primetime games. The NFL knows that. Of course, they do. Yet somehow the Giants and Daniel Jones keep getting scheduled in primetime slots when there are significantly better matchups out there each week.

It wasn’t only Stephen A. taking shots at Daniel Jones, either. Seahawks rookie Devon Witherspoon who returned an interception for a 97-yard touchdown took a brutal shot at Daniel Jones as well.
