Stephen Curry, the NBA’s all-time leading 3pt shooter and a 4-time NBA champion just released a new children’s book meant to inspire young kids everywhere to reach beyond their potential. While promoting his new book on CBS this morning, Stephen Curry was asked about running for US President one day.

Curry is a phenomenal athlete, a 1-of-1 3pt shooter, but he’s also an incredibly intelligent and well-educated individual who got his degree from Davdison College in North Carolina back in 2022, 13 years after leaving school early to head to the NBA.

When asked by CBS correspondent Jericka Duncan if he’d run for US President after the NBA, Stephen Curry saidMaybe, I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can. So, if that’s the way to do it, then – I’m not going to say the presidency but if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change or if there’s another way outside of politics.

Should the 35-year-old future NBA Hall of Famer run for US President one day and win the election, he would legitimize Davidson College in an interesting way.

Davidson College claims Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United States of America, as one of their ‘famous alumni.’ This is something told to prospective students on visits to the campus.

What is not always made abundantly clear, however, is that President Woodrow Wilson only attended Davidson College for part of his freshman year in 1873-1874 and transferred as a freshman to Princeton University, then called College of New Jersey. He would later get his law degree from the University of Virginia.

I also transferred colleges after beginning at SMU in Dallas and transferring to FSU after my freshman year. Do you know where I don’t claim to be an alumni? SMU. My degree says FSU and that’s where I’m an alum.

This dubious claim of Davidson College as having a former president as an alum could end if Stephen Curry decides to get serious about politics following his days in the NBA and run for US president. Would you vote for him? I could think of a LOT worse people to vote for than Curry…
