Bailey Zappe will have Taylor Swift fans rooting against him when he faces the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon in Foxborough. Not only are the Patriots playing against her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, the second-year quarterback established himself as public enemy no. 1 among Swifties everywhere.

Zappe spoke with Jones & Mego of WEEI on Monday afternoon. He made a big mistake.

When asked whether he is a fan of Taylor Swift and her music, Bailey Zappe was quick to say no.

Uh oh. What has he done?!

Zappe went on to clarify that his stance on Swift is not anti-Swift. Her music simply isn’t on his playlist.

And as a country music fan, Zappe claimed that some of her old stuff is on his radar. Fearless and Speak Now might occasionally grace his eardrums.

Doesn’t matter.

For Zappe to so fervently say “no ma’am” as soon as the question was asked says everything that needs to be said for Swifties. They were going to root against him anyway, by nature of his opponent this weekend, but their dislike will only increase to full blown loathing.

The good news for Zappe is that he is not active on social media. His last activity on X, formerly known as Twitter, came back in August prior to the season.

Swifties can chirp him all they won’t. Their anger will go unseen.

However, based on the nonexistent crowd at Gillette Stadium last weekend, there is a chance that the Chiefs fans could out-number Patriots fans. Swift sold out three nights in Foxborough. Zappe cannot say the same.

In the meantime, he has one of the largest fanbases in the world rooting against him. It would have been much better for Zappe not to comment on his lack of Swift fandom. Or, at the very least, he should have provided the clarity before giving a definitive “no.”

He better be prepared to shake it off!
