College football recruiting is a wild ride. While 17 and 18-year-old high schoolers try to decide on where to go to college, coaching staffs are tasked with trying to convince those 17 and 18-year-old high schoolers why their school is better than the rest.

From facilities, to scholarships, to gear sponsorships, to uniforms, enticing a recruit to campus involves being ahead of the bell curve on all things. Especially in the social media era.

As recruits visit programs and take photos, being cool is king. Take Dabo Swinney and Brian Kelly, for example— albeit a bad one.

The LSU and Clemson were trying their darndest to keep up with the youths, but fell well short. On the flip side, Lane Kiffin has done a good job of keeping up with the times.

All of this goes to say that now, more than ever, the more shiny objects that schools can put in front of a recruit, the better.

Nico Iamaleava is one of those recruits. The Class of 2023 five-star quarterback visited the University of Tennessee over the weekend and is the Vols’ top recruiting target.

While on his visit, apparently, the UT coaching staff let him in on a little secret— the Vols are getting new uniforms. The school has not announced anything of the sort, but Iamaleava accidentally did so himself.

In an exit interview with Rivals, he was discussing his favorite uniform combinations. And then he accidentally let the secret slip.

“I also heard that you guys got some new uniforms coming in,” Iamaleava said.

Whether he knew it or not, the five-star signal-caller hilariously broke some news.

Take a listen:

OOPS! You heard it from Iamaleava first, Tennessee is getting new uniforms!
