Houston Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud caused a stir after revealing his Top-5 quarterbacks in the NFL during an appearance on the Caps Off Podcast.

Stroud, who was selected 2nd overall by the Texans in the 2023 Draft, is already gaining attention for his skills and abilities in practice.

During the podcast, Stroud listed his top choices, giving fans and football enthusiasts a glimpse into his perspective on the league’s best quarterbacks. Topping his list was Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, who has been making waves with his impressive performances on the field.

In second place, Stroud named Patrick Mahomes, the dynamic quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, known for his exceptional arm talent, playmaking ability, and impressive decision-making skills.

Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals earned the third spot on Stroud’s list. Stroud recognizes Burrow’s talent and his ability to lead his team effectively.

Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills secured the fourth position on Stroud’s list. Allen has emerged as a true star in the league, with his strong arm, mobility, and consistent performances leading the Bills to success. Stroud’s recognition of Allen’s abilities further cements the young quarterback’s status as one of the best in the game.

Rounding out Stroud’s top five is Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears. Fields, who was also a highly touted prospect in the 2021 Draft, impressed Stroud enough to earn a spot among the league’s elite quarterbacks. Fields’ combination of athleticism, arm strength, and football IQ makes him an exciting player to watch.

In an interesting addendum, Stroud mentioned that he also likes Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, but he did not include him in his top five. Jackson, known for his incredible speed and playmaking ability, has already achieved significant success in his young NFL career including winning the MVP award.
