Anticipation is at a high in College Station as the Aggies get ready for a matchup against SEC West rival Alabama. Many are begging for a pregame change to further increase excitement.

Texas A&M fans have flooded social media in hopes of returning to its previous entrance music as the newest theme has been met with criticism.

Prior to this year, the team ran onto Kyle Field to the sound of Kanye West’s “Power” blaring on the loudspeakers. Due to some controversial and antisemitic opinions of the rapper, the Aggies decided to make a change.

The athletic department revealed a new pregame tune for the 2023 campaign, but it hasn’t hit with quite the same energy to this point.

Kyle Field will be sold out when the Crimson Tide come to town with the winner of the game taking sole possession of first place in the division. A win would give the Aggies a leg up in the SEC Championship race.

In hopes of making the environment as raucous and unwelcoming as possible, Texas A&M fans want the team to return its previous entrance music. The same intro they saw the last time they hosted the Tide in Kyle Field and came away with a 41-38 upset.

“Kyle Field would lift off into orbit.”

“Yeah, I’m not in love with the new song.”

“We might as well be doing Power. The new song is absurd.”

“Power was infinitely better than the crap they have now.”

Unfortunately, a return to “Power” is likely out of the cards.

With new entrance set, Texas A&M fans call upon attendees to learn the music.

A return to “Power” is not likely to happen as the Aggies begin a new tradition in Kyle Field. With the pregame routine still relatively fresh, many are begging those in attendance to actually learn the cadence of the intro.

If the fans can’t have what they want, they can at least make do with what they’ve got.

No matter the pregame routine, the atmosphere on Saturday should be absolutely electric. Texas A&M will come in at 4-1 with a loss to Miami while the Tide enter with an identical record, falling to Texas earlier this year.

The last two matchups in this series have been extremely competitive, with the home team winning by one score on each occasion. Texas A&M is hoping to see that trend continue this weekend in hopes of staying unbeaten in SEC play.

Alabama is currently listed as a 2.5-point favorite.
