The NFL Reacts To Backlash Over Taylor Swift Coverage

The NFL is firing back at the backlash they’re receiving due to their Taylor Swift coverage.

For the past two weeks, the NFL has gone out of its way to promote Swift’s rumored relationship with Travis Kelce after she attended games.

Even Kelce has gone on the record to say that he feels the league is going a bit “overboard” with their coverage.

The NFL has since released a statement to PEOPLE, defending their coverage of Swift because it’s a “pop culture” moment.

“We frequently change our bios and profile imagery based on what’s happening in and around our games, as well as culturally,” the NFL said. “The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news has been a pop cultural moment we’ve leaned into in real-time, as it’s an intersection of sport and entertainment, and we’ve seen an incredible amount of positivity around the sport.”
