Now that we officially know that Tom Brady won’t be playing in the NFL next season, the question now becomes what is he going to do in retirement.

Brady taking a role in sports broadcasting is a logical next step. There’s no evidence that TB12 is even considering getting into the TV business, but that doesn’t mean networks aren’t already keeping a close eye on him.

According to Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, networks have already started reaching out to Brady’s agents to gauge interest.

It should go without saying that these networks would be willing to offer Brady a lot of money. In fact, he would easily become the highest-paid sports broadcaster in the game.

“Brady would be worth his weight in gold. The opening bid would be $20 million a year — and it could go as high as $25 million,” a source told Front Office Sports. “That would be for either games or the studio. There’s no way in hell Brady would make less than Romo.”

Romo makes a reported $18 million per year on his current deal. Brady making upwards of $7 million more than him is a big number, but then again, this is Tom Brady we’re talking about here.

Brady would also have his pick of networks to choose from as FOX Sports, Amazon, and ESPN have reportedly been looking to speak with his representatives about what the future may hold.

Maybe Brady does get into sports broadcasting right away. He could also take the Peyton and Eli Manning route and enjoy retirement for a while before getting into that world. There’s also a chance he never steps foot in a broadcasting booth and just enjoys his time away from the game.
