The mayor of Toronto, John Tory, was none too pleased with a recent CBS Sports poll of fans that listed 3 of the 4 teams playing the NBA Conference Finals and for whatever reason listed the Toronto Raptors as ‘other’. In response to CBS Sports’ slight Toronto Mayor John Troy drafted up a letter that basically equates to the biggest screaming ‘fuck you’ that a man in office can ever publicly state, and he did so with the elegance and aplomb you’d expect from a Canadian politician. Check it:
If this was me in Jon Tory’s situation I’m not sure I’d have been able to stay so reserved. I’ve never been one for the song and dance of diplomacy. I’m the type of person that’ll just come at you straight forward and tell you all the reasons that you’re a complete shitstick fuckboi, but this mayor’s letter has me considering the alternative of my approach. I admire the crap out of Mayor John Tory’s letter, it’s already been tweeted over 9.3k times (as of the time of publishing this blog):
So maybe we should all try and be a little more like John Tory, a little more eloquent with our ‘FUCK YOU’s to the world. And if you didn’t already know/are curious, tonight’s Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals kicks off at 8:30pm EST between the Toronto Raptors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, in Cleveland. Methinks that one of these teams will be hungrier for the win than the other, but that’s why they play the game.
