Travis Kelce has added a powerful ally when it comes to making the case that he’s the best tight end in the history of the National Football League, and that’s future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski.

Gronkowski, who is also in the conversation for the greatest player to ever play the position, said during a recent interview that there’s no “argument” that the 34-year-old Kelce is the “best receiving tight end to ever play the game of football.”

“I don’t think there’s an argument that Travis Kelce is the best receiving tight end in the game,” Gronk said during a recent interview with Complex.

“I would say just overall he has proved it now over the last couple of years and going strong this year as well. I would say he’s the best receiving tight end to ever play the game of football. So I definitely got to give him props.”

Since being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013, Kelce has caught 907 passes for 11,328 yards and 74 touchdowns during his regular season career.

In the postseason, Kelce, a two-time Super Bowl champion, has caught an additional 156 passes for 1,810 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Drafted in the 3rd round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Kelce has been named to the four All-Pro first teams and nine straight Pro Bowls from 2015 to 2023.

According to reports, Kelce is apparently considering retirement following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season. At this time, however, nothing has been confirmed by Kelce himself.

If the Chiefs are going to upset the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58 — the defending champions are currently 2-point underdogs — they’re going to need Kelce to be his usual dominant self, as the Chiefs don’t have as many weapons on offense as the Niners do.
