Unlike Maya Benberry who went hard at Travis Kelce, Kayla Nicole has not publicly said anything negative about her ex-boyfriend dating Taylor Swift.

She has, however, unfollowed Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes on Instagram after the quarterback’s wife was seen hanging out with T-Swizzle and her friends Blake Lively and Sophie Turner.

The fact that Kayla Nicole went wedding dress shopping with Brittany and was invited to her bachelorette weekend back in 2022 has led to speculation that perhaps the former pals had a falling out related to Kelce and Swift.

On Monday, Kayla Nicole shared a video to Instagram of herself talking to the camera, transcribing a prepared letter that refers to “backlash and embarrassment.”

“Dear Black girl,” Nicole begins her statement.

“They may call you a traitor for falling in love. You’ll hope the ones closest will protect you but you will quickly find out that people don’t protect what they don’t value.

“They’ll say you’re too much, too provocative, too boisterous, too outspoken, and in the same breath tell you that you’re not enough. Not successful enough, not wholesome enough, maybe not even intelligent enough.

“They’ll say you deserve the backlash and embarrassment. Because of your Blackness, you should have known better.

“They’ll even try to tie your value to your net worth.

“But Black girl, please remember that your value lies elsewhere. Your value is deep within your heart.”

Kayla Nicole goes on to talk about much more, including how “you do not have to engage” when someone tries to test you “because there is power in your silence.”

Nicole received a lot of praise for her message, which many could easily read into being about Kelce and Swift and the fans, especially from women in the world of sports.

Maria Taylor of NBC Sports wrote in the comments, “A whole sermon… AMEN SIS!! Thank you for this.”

Kristin Juszczyk, wife of 49ers player Kyle Juszczyk, commented, “You are the definition of elegance & grace.”

LSU basketball star Angel Reese, wrote, “From one black girl to another, THANK YOU for speaking up for us! This was beautiful! Always walk with grace & God because that’s all that matters!”

Fox Sports host Joy Taylor added, “We love you and got you sis, thank you for your vulnerability and sharing your power.”

Claire Kittle, wife of George Kittle, wrote simply, “I love you.”

Even Jackson Mahomes, the embattled brother-in-law of Brittany Mahomes, left three black heart emojis in the comments.
