Earlier this week, the NFL news cycle produced the story that there is apparently mutual interest between the Los Angeles Chargers and Bill Belichick.

The Chargers recently fired Brandon Staley after two-and-a-half seasons, while all reports seem to indicate that Belichick and the Patriots will be parting ways at the end of the season.

As such, given the talent on the Chargers roster, interest between the two parties seems inevitable.

One person who is already throwing cold water on the idea of Belichick-to-the-Chargers, however, is Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who has spent the last decade dominating the formerly San Diego-based franchise.

During a recent episode of his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason, Kelce sounded off on the idea of the NFL’s greatest-ever coach planting his roots in the AFC West, and needless to say, he was none too thrilled about the idea.

“People are saying Bill Belichick might be the frontrunner for the head coaching role. Yeah, no s—, BB is going to be the frontrunner for any head-coaching role,” Jason Kelce said.

“If he is available, I think everybody is going to want this guy. Who do you think they should go after as the next coach? Can we get like a young, never heard-of college coach? I don’t want a f—— good coach to come in the f—— my division, dude. Get the f— out of here. I hope they f—— hire some jabroni, man,” Travis said.

Following a tumultuous couple of weeks, the Chiefs were able to get back to their winning ways last weekend with a victory over Belichick’s New England Patriots.

With three games left on their regular season schedule, the Chiefs will be facing off against the Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals, and Los Angeles Chargers.

Through 14 games ths season, the 34-year-old Kelce has 85 catches for 924 yards and five touchdowns.
