Whether or not Taylor Swift is able to make it to Super Bowl LVIII could impact the Chiefs’ chances of hoisting the Lombardi trophy. According to a recent study, Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce plays better with the pop star in attendance.

It’s not 100% certain that T-Swift can make it to Las Vegas due to previously scheduled professional obligations of her own, but you can bet the pass catcher wants to see her in a suite in Allegiant Stadium.

The duo’s relationship has been widely publicized this NFL season to the benefit of the league. After going public earlier this fall, Swift’s presence at Kansas City Chiefs games has been a major talking point.

And it’s turned into a huge cash cow for Roger Goodell and Co.

Ratings have been sky high, no more so than in the team’s postseason run. Look no further than a Divisional round matchup against the Bills, which set an NFL record for viewership last month.

While the league continues to use the pop icon’s worldwide fame to its advantage, it seems her in-game attendance could be beneficial more than just television networks.

BetWay ran a recent study comparing beau Travis Kelce’s performance both with and without Taylor Swift in the stands. The numbers seem to show an uptick in the tight end’s output when she’s on hand.

The data found that:

  • Without Swift in attendance, Kelce averaged just 50 receiving yards per game. Whereas with the superstar Swift watching, he averaged 79 receiving yards which was an increase of 58%.
  • The tight end also averaged more receptions with Swift in attendance. Kelce hauled in six receptions per game without Swift in the crowd compared to seven with her.
  • However, Kelce was slightly more likely to catch a touchdown without Tay Tay at the stadium. He averaged 0.5 TDs a game without the “Anti-Hero” singer spectating compared to 0.4 touchdowns with her.

While touchdowns went down ever-so-slightly, Kelce saw major boosts in both catches and yards when Swift was on hand.

Her presence also seems beneficial for the Chiefs as they won 75% of their games with the singer in attendance compared to 66.7% without.

Though it’s a small sample size, you can believe Kansas City would love to see the trend continue at Super Bowl LVII.

Will Taylor Swift root Travis Kelce on at the Super Bowl?

The pop star has a very busy schedule this February that kicks off with the Grammys this weekend. After the awards show, it’s back to the grind.

Swift’s Eras Tour is set to continue its global voyage in Japan. With a gig scheduled in Tokyo the night before the big game, many wondered if it was even possible to get back to the States in time for kickoff.

It is, and she more than likely will be in attendance on Super Bowl Sunday.

If the case, it could bode well for Kansas City, who seems to have a number of off-field trends working in its favor.

Does Swift’s presence give Travis Kelce and the Chiefs a leg up for the Lombardi trophy? We should soon find out.
