The matchup for Super Bowl LVIII is set, as the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers On Sunday, February 11, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The game is expected to be very close, with the 49ers currently the favorites by just a point or two, depending on the sportsbook you look at.

There isn’t much to separate these two teams, who have been among the favorites to take home the Lombardi Trophy the second last year’s Super Bowl was won by the Chiefs.

Kansas City, who is making their fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years, is looking to cement itself as a dynasty, as they’ve won two of those three previous trips in recent memory with the trio of Head Coach Andy Reid, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and tight end Travis Kelce. This year, it’s been their defense that has carried the load at times while a new group of playmakers outside of Kelce get acclimated with Mahomes.

The San Francisco 49ers, meanwhile, arguably the best record in the league. There’s no better group of offensive skill players than theirs, featuring running back Christian McCaffrey, wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, and tight end George Kittle. Those players, plus excellent play-calling by Head Coach Kyle Shanahan, allow Brock Purdy to shine at quarterback, even though his talent level is hotly contested. Defensively, Nick Bosa and an outstanding group of linebackers makes up for a suspect secondary that has been hurt by injuries.

Handicapping this game is pretty tough. I can think of reasons as to why both teams should win this game. If you’re conflicted on who to bet on, lunar patterns are here for us.

The Kansas City Chiefs are absolute powerhouses with the moon in waxing crescent since 2019, at 19-1. Does it have an impact on the game? It would be hard to pinpoint anything in particular that it would impact. But, you can’t ignore 19-1.
