The debate about the greatest quarterback of all time has long been settled, with the GOAT title going to retired legend Tom Brady.

Now Chiefs Travis Kelce gives his take and believes his guy Patrick Mahomes might pass Brady one day.

Kelce didn’t hesitate to give Brady his due respect as the best, and the greatest of all time, but he also believes that Mahomes could eventually surpass Brady’s legacy, which includes 7 Super Bowls:

During an appearance on the ‘I Am Athlete‘ podcast, Kelce shared his thoughts:

“Obviously I got all the respect for Tom Brady. I wasn’t able to get him in the playoffs, so I’ve Tom Bradyed multiple times in my career, so I got all the love for him. He’s the GOAT and the best to ever do it but I think right now the rate that Pat is at, how he’s doing it, I think it’s a little more all on Pat than it was on Brady. At least Brady’s first couple of years to where Pat is now, and that’s only going to keep evolving and it’s only going to keep going up. I just think one-five has an ability to find a way to get things done even when it breaks down or he’s got to make this crazy throw across the field, and that’s just something you haven’t seen in the NFL, and he’s been doing it since his first snap, and I think he’s going to play a long, long time. So I think he’ll catch him in all the accolades, but I think the biggest thing is always going to be those Super Bowls. That’s a lot of Super Bowls.”

It won’t be easy for Mahomes to reach Brady’s status, but he has already led the Chiefs to two Super Bowl titles in his first seven seasons, and he shows no signs of slowing down.

Brady holds most of the significant passing records in NFL history, and he’s the touchdown passing leader for two different franchises.

Mahomes has been on a great pace to start his career but still has a long way to go. This year, he has kept the Chiefs in contention for a Super Bowl run with a 6-1 record.

While Mahomes has a long way to go to claim the title of NFL’s GOAT, he still has time to achieve that. And Kelce, who recently turned 34, will continue to do his part to support him.
