Dave Roberts made an appearance on the Rich Eisen Show Thursday to speak about the Los Angeles Dodgers’ upcoming season.

The team is making waves this offseason with the addition of 1B Freddie Freeman, adding another proven slugger to an already potent lineup. Los Angeles now has four former MVPs on the roster and they’re gearing up for another deep run in the MLB Playoffs this fall.

While Freeman represents a great new addition to the team, there will also be one important absence in the starting pitching rotation.

At least to begin the season.

Trevor Bauer will miss the first week of the season as the MLB has extended his Administrative Leave through April 16th. This absence is due to sexual allegations stemming from an incident last year. Bauer is reportedly cooperating, but the league hasn’t yet budged on letting him back on the roster.

Bauer’s future is obviously a hot topic, so Eisen took the time to ask the Dodgers’ manager about his starting pitcher.

Unfortunately, it looks like Roberts’s answer got a bit misconstrued by Eisen’s social media team.

Trevor Bauer Bashes Media For Spreading Misinformation

When asked about the status of his starting pitcher, Roberts responded that he doesn’t quite have enough information to make a call on when Bauer will be back with the team. Instead, he’s focusing on the guys who are currently in camp.

The radio show host followed up with this.

Eisen: “Ok, so right now you’re planning to start 2022 and go however long without Trevor Bauer, right?”

Roberts: “Absolutely, yes, yes sir.”

Seemed pretty harmless in the moment, but Eisen’s media team then made it seem like Bauer may never be back with the team. Their post after the interview read, “Manager Dave Roberts just told us he plans NOT have Trevor Bauer for the foreseeable future, if ever again.”

That’s certainly a misrepresentation of what was said.

Bauer took to social media to bash the Rich Eisen Show and their portrayal of the Roberts quote.

Bauer wanted some accountability, and he got a bit with Eisen admitting that the Tweet was a misrepresentation of what was said in the interview.

Bauer will hope to get back on the field sooner rather than later to bolster the Dodgers’ rotation.
