Leaked Video Of Trey Lance Making Ridiculous Throws At 49ers Practice Sets The Internet Ablaze

When Trey Lance was drafted with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the debate immediately began about whether he should start as a rookie or not. Jimmy Garoppolo was ultimately named the starter, but Lance saw time in the starting role in his absence due to injury.

Now, with the offseason in full-swing, the debate has begun once again. Should the 49ers trade Garoppolo and start Lance? Or should San Francisco sit Lance for another year?

As of right now, it seems like neither option is off of the table.

In the meantime, leaked video of Lance balling during practice last season has set the internet ablaze, particularly in the Bay Area. At 6-foot-4, 226 pounds, there are some things that the 21-year-old should not be able to make look as effortless as he does.

Take this play for example. Lance rolls to his right, semi-sets his feet while on the run, and whips a side-arm pass right in between two defenders. It’s ridiculous.

After seeing the throw, which has since accumulated more than 1,800 retweets and 8,200 likes in 24 hours, 49ers fans started freaking out.

 

And that wasn’t the only leak. Lance does crazy things like that on a fairly consistent basis.

When he isn’t making crazy plays, his ball placement is on the money.

Lance drops dimes and that’s a fact.

It will be interesting to see how San Francisco moves forward at quarterback. However, if practice leaks are any indication, Lance is going to be special.
