The Joe Buck-Troy Aikman duo appears to be coming to an end.
Earlier this year, Buck signed a $100 million contract extension with ESPN, while Aikman remained in limbo on an expiring contract that won’t be resolved until after the season.
Last week, Front Office Sports reported that Aikman confronted Buck over his contract.

“On Monday night, before the Rams took on the Bills at SoFi Stadium, the site of this season’s Super Bowl, Buck “broke the ice” on this unspoken tension, and he and Aikman had an argument, a source said. It ultimately de-escalated, and the two had a broadcast in which viewers never would have been able to decipher that something was amiss.”
Puck’s Dylan Byers is reporting that Aikman actually cursed at Buck during their heated exchange.

“There had been weeks of Troy becoming increasingly cold, difficult, short, making comments,” a source with direct knowledge of the dynamics between the two men told me. At SoFi Stadium, “Joe finally snapped,” the source continued. “He basically said, Dude, are we really going to do this? And Troy’s position was: You f-cked me over!”
On Monday night, Buck and Aikman called the Commanders-Niners game, and fans could feel the tension through the screen.

As of now, it doesn’t seem like Aikman and Buck will reunite next season.
