Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill engaged in a back-and-forth with former NFL Pro Bowl Safety Donte Whitner after Whitner commented that Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott “Sucks” following the 49ers loss on Sunday Night Football.

Hill, seemingly taking issue with the criticism from former players turned media personalities, posted, “What’s up with the old heads 🤔,” highlighting a trend of retired athletes openly criticizing current players in the media. This trend includes incidents like Rodney Harrison calling Jets quarterback Zach Wilson “Garbage” after the Week 4 game against the Chiefs.

Whitner fired back at Hill, stating, “You’re fast but you’re lucky…. I’d have killed you on that field…. Mind your business homie..” However, he later deleted that comment and replaced it with a slightly less confrontational one, saying, “Ol head? You’ll be here one day… I said what I said homie.”

Hill didn’t let the exchange end there, playfully questioning Whitner’s decision to delete his initial comment with a couple of laughing emojis and emphasizing his commitment to supporting NFL players: “Why you deleted your comment 😂😂? And I promise I won’t hate on no NFL player I stand on business 🫡.”

Ultimately, Whitner appeared wanting to move on so closed the exchange with a more measured tone: “Hate? If the man sucks he sucks…. You wouldn’t be happy with Dak as your quarterback. God bless and stay healthy.”

Seems current NFL players and former NFL players will continue to battle when they feel the media goes too harshly on other current players.
