The USMNT captured the attention of America during the past World Cup in Qatar. The team finished undefeated in group play, before bowing out in the round of 16 to The Netherlands.

The team had lots of breakout stars that the average American learned about in the tournament. Guys like Yunus Musah, Tyler Adams, and Tim Ream shined in the biggest opportunity of their careers.

And, Weston McKennie also broke out. The 24-year-old midfielder plays for Italian powerhouse Juventus, and is among the world’s best young midfielders. He’s a true box-to-box player who can score the occasional goal and plays with some flair.

McKennie was injured coming into the tournament, so he couldn’t play full games in the tournament. But, he was impressive as part of the USMNT midfield trio of Musah Adams, and himself.

But, the USMNT star could be on the move.

Leeds United play in the Premier League and are a club with a ton of history. The club was arguably the best in all of England in the late 60s to early 70s. It recently has made its way back to the Premier League and is managed by American manager Jesse Marsch.

Now, the teams still have to agree on terms, but I think this would be a good move for McKennie. He would be a key player for Leeds and would get a ton of playing time in the world’s best league. And, that will help the USMNT as well.
