In my lifetime, there may have never been a prospect as hyped as Victor Wembanyama ahead of their NBA career.
I was in elementary school at the time, but I don’t even remember the LeBron hype reaching these levels.
There have already been talks about Wembanyama being a bust if he isn’t a top-10 player in NBA history.
Luckily for Wembanyama, the wait is almost over for fans to finally get to see what he actually has to offer at the NBA level.
Last night, the San Antonio Spurs got to officially make him the first overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft, a spot fans have known belonged to him for quite some time.
After the pick was made, Wembanyama got the chance to show that the hype hasn’t gotten to him and he still has his priorities in order.
During a press conference after he was drafted, Wembanyama was asked what excites him most about San Antonio.
He gave a very relatable answer. The number one overall pick in this year’s draft and potentially the most hyped prospect ever is excited about the breakfast tacos.

As somebody who made the move to the southwest around the same point in my life as Wembanyama is now, I can tell you that there is something pretty great about suddenly having regular access to high quality tacos of all varieties.
The move from France to Texas is definitely going to come with some pretty big dietary changes for Victor Wembanyama, but it looks like he is ready to tackle that change head on.
Hopefully his teammates have some good breakfast taco spots picked out for Wembanyama as he moves to his new home.
