Dylan Cozens was absolutely livid after getting sent to the ice during a violent hockey fight on Friday night. He never stood a chance!

At least 10 punches landed before the Buffalo Sabres centre ended up face-down on the ice. It was ugly.

The whole thing began shortly after the Philadelphia Flyers took a 5-1 lead with just over two minutes left in the third period. Cozens was on the receiving end of a big hit into the glass from Garnet Hathaway and responded with a big cross-check.

That did not go over well.

Cozens continued to come forward on Hathaway, which led him to return to his feet. At that point, some jarring turned to scrapping, which later became a full-blown tilt.

Players and NHL officials stepped in to try and keep things from escalating. Their efforts were unsuccessful.

A hockey fight ensued!

Hathaway, who stands 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, started throwing punches at Cozens, who stands 6-foot-3, 183 pounds. The referees caused the former to get in at least three clean shots before they backed up. All of them were solid punches that landed where they were intended.

Cozens easily could have folded at that point. He did not.

Hathaway had a clear advantage from the jump and proceeded to dominate the fight. Cozens ultimately caught a vicious right hand and crumbled.

Not only did Cozens lose, he got completely disrespected. Hathaway rubbed his head in the most demeaning fashion possible.

Understandably, Cozens was furious. He let his anger loose as he got off of the ice and a chair was thrown out of anger.

Both guys received five-minute majors. Philadelphia went on to win in a blowout.

The Flyers won both the hockey game and the hockey fight. Cozens and the Sabres had a rough night, but credit to him for squaring up with a much heavier opponent and sticking it through!
