Russell Wilson has caught a ton of flack this season for the number of bad games under his belt. The spotlight became a bit brighter after the Denver Broncos fired Nathaniel Hackett.

It’s unclear what the future holds for this franchise. However, former Broncos pass rusher Von Miller weighs in on the situation.

During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Miller was asked if he knows Russell Wilson personally. McAfee essentially asks for Von Miller’s full opinion about what’s going on in Denver from there. In his answer, the former Broncos star had nothing but kind words for Wilson. He even went as far as to say he thinks “this year is an anomaly,” and that “next year will be drastically different in Denver.”

Russell Wilson bouncing back to his former self would be ideal for the Broncos. Especially considering how much the franchise has invested in the veteran quarterback. Von Miller sure sounds confident in Wilson figuring it out in Denver. Especially since he’s boldly claiming he’s “willing to bet on it.”

Wilson’s teammates have gone to bat for him as well. Even with rumors of the locker room turning on Russell Wilson, Broncos players basically preach the opposite whenever they’re given the chance.

There is still plenty of time for Denver to right the ship. They have a talented roster and would be a real threat with improved quarterback play. It’ll be interesting to see how the head coaching search goes, as the right coach could fix a lot of problems for this team.

Either way, Von Miller is betting on Russell Wilson, so at least Broncos fans can remain hopeful through the upcoming offseason.
