Another week, another update on the wacky computer rankings system pumping out surprising college football results. And for a third straight poll, we have a new No. 1 team.

The guys at MCubed.net have been tracking performance throughout the season, filling followers in on their unique insights.

We’ve been tracking this poll over the last three weeks, and the results seem to stun on each occasion. Our first update saw Miami holding the top spot after getting off to a 4-0 start.

They wouldn’t stay at No. 1 for long, falling to Georgia Tech in mind-blowing fashion the following week.

In came undefeated Ohio State to take over atop the standings, boasting a big win over Notre Dame. The Buckeyes didn’t lose last weekend, but they were unable to retain the No. 1 spot after a bye.

Now, there’s a new top dog in the MCubed college football rankings.

Oklahoma, who ranked No. 3 in last week’s poll, hopped both OSU and Penn State despite having also been on a bye week.

The Sooners’ most recent contest was a 34-30 win over Texas, who makes an appearance at No. 4 in the standings.

Below is the complete Top 10.

    Penn State (6-0)
    Texas (5-1)

Where to begin?

Two Group of Five teams round out the Top 10, which might be the most surprising result of all. Air Force actually comes in at No. 11, giving us three G5 teams in the Top 15. All three rank ahead of Alabama and defending champion Georgia.

Texas coming in over undefeated Michigan, Washington, and FSU is head-scratching, too.

Elsewhere, Oregon fell all the way to No. 18 after the close loss to Washington while USC came in at No. 22 following a loss to Notre Dame.

There will be more movement at the top after this coming weekend with Penn State and Ohio State facing off in the Horseshoe. We’ll see what madness ensues in next week’s college football rankings.
