Things are looking bleak on The Plains. Over the last few weeks, steam has been picking up surrounding head coach Bryan Harsin’s future at Auburn.

First, Harsin saw the departure of three coordinators over the offseason. Offensive play caller Mike Bobo parted ways with the school after a subpar season on the field. His replacement, Austin Davis, was on staff for just six weeks before resigning. On defense, Derek Mason left the program to take the same role at Oklahoma State.

There have also been rumors regarding a possible relationship with someone on staff, which have only compounded fans’ frustrations following a 6-7 record in 2021. It was the Tigers’ first losing campaign in nearly a decade with the team losing their final five games.

Simply put, Harsin has worn out his welcome in a very short time.

Arkansas Fans Have An Interesting Candidate To Replace Harsin

As is the case with college football rivalries, opposing fans have used the news as a way to take jabs at the Tiger fanbase.

Over the weekend, one Arkansas supporter took the opportunity to hop on an Auburn group chat to give his best suggestion for who the Tigers should hire to replace Harsin. It’s a name that both programs are very familiar with.

Check out the hilarious interaction below.

The Razorback fan subtly slips Chad Morris’s name into the hypothetical candidacy. And the way he presents the jab catches the entire Auburn call off guard.

“I think we need to reach out to somebody with some deep Texas ties, and a really good recruiter. He’s been at Auburn before…”

It didn’t take too long for the Tigers to figure out who the caller was talking about, and they quickly shut down the idea of having Morris back on staff. He was the offensive coordinator at Auburn in 2020, just a year after being fired as Arkansas’s head coach in 2019.

It will be interesting to follow the tumultuous head coaching situation on The Plains. If Harsin is eventually let go, you can expect more exchanges like this in the future.
