The Tampa Bay Buccaneers season is over which means it’s time to debate whether or not Tom Brady should retire this offseason. We’ve gone through this charade countless times before, especially last season after he hoisted yet another Lombardi, but this year things do seem to feel at least a little bit different.

Brady is another year older now at 44-years-old and as we all know Father Time is undefeated. While Brady isn’t getting any younger, it’s really difficult to imagine him hanging it up after not winning a Super Bowl in what would be his final season.

Brady’s former teammate in New England, Rob Ninkovich, doesn’t see it that way though. He believes now is the time for Brady to call it quits.

Ninkovich thinks that we’re at the point of Brady’s career where people are simply waiting for him to crash. Brady has stayed unbelievably healthy throughout his career, and as he gets older he’s undoubtedly becoming more injury-prone.

“If Tom Brady keeps playing, eventually there’s going to be something everyone wants to see, the crash,” Ninkovich explained on ESPN’s ‘Get Up.’ “They want to see the cliff. Don’t give them the satisfaction, Tom. Go do what you want to do.

“You’ve done everything. You have so many Super Bowls. You’ve done everything on the field, off the field. I think Tom, at this point right now, do what makes you happy. It wouldn’t surprise me if he walked away.”

Ninkovich has a valid point here. Brady giving it another go next year, a year full of offseason prep and missing out on things with his family, is a lot to take on. Why go through all that when you’re already the greatest QB of all time?
