Will Rogers was abandoned by Kalen DeBoer in Seattle when he left Washington for Alabama. The former Mississippi State quarterback’s future is in limbo, but his presence at the Huskies’ football facility on Sunday night could make things very interesting.

Jedd Fisch was named as DeBoer’s replacement after three years at Arizona. He met with his team in Tucson to inform them of his departure, hopped on a private jet, and flew out to the Pacific Northwest.

Upon arrival to Washington, a group of players were there to greet him. Among them was Rogers.

The fifth-year senior is currently set to transfer out of the program. He entered the portal shortly after DeBoer departed for Tuscaloosa. It was his second entry in less than 30 days.

Rogers, who led the SEC in passing during his final college football season with Mike Leach as head coach, saw a big decline in his offensive production in 2023. As a result, he decided to leave the Bulldogs after four years.

The Huskies needed a quarterback to replace Michael Penix Jr. in their high-powered offense. Rogers was the guy. He has one year of eligibility left and was slated to start for Washington.

That is no longer the case. Unless it is?

Rogers was there to greet Fisch in Seattle upon his arrival while actively in the portal. His interest in a possible return is piqued, at the very least.

Although it is expected that Jedd Fisch will bring Wildcats starting quarterback Noah Fifita with him to his new team, no not rule out a scenario where the Huskies’ head coach (of less than 24 hours) asks his predecessor’s transfer quarterback to stay. Rogers would be awesome in his scheme.

If the two parties choose to part ways, other suitors for Will Rogers might include Houston, Michigan, TCU, Auburn, and even Alabama. Time will tell!
