I’ve long been a fan of wooden watches, they’re a unique take that work with a lot of traditional styles.
I feel like most watches fall into one of two categories these days:
- Simple, which I love and fits the description of most watches I own.
- Modern, typically based around a huge dial and have a billion things going on from functionality to design.
Enter: the wood watch. Typically featuring a classic dial with a design and band that stands out in a crowd of wrists.
When buying your first wood watch, it’s best to grab a good looking model that doesn’t break the bank. The unique look and feel can differ from most watches, so take a flyer on one of these for less than $30 and see if a wooden watch is worth a bigger investment down the road.
Regardless, these will do the job without costing a wrist and a leg.
1. BOBO BIRD D27
Bobo Bird’s D27s is as clean and simple as they come, making for a great looking timepiece. It’s made with real bamboo, so it’s tough as hell. The D27 is handmade, easy to adjust for size, and priced right.
All-in-all it checks every box for a dope, wooden wristwatch.

2. CUCOL Afternoon 1:00
CUCOL brings a zebra design to the bi-color watch with a black or white dial featuring gold dial. I really like the roman numeral for 12:00 with simple dashes for the remaining hours.
This watch highlight’s it’s simple dial by using a two-tone zebra wood, drawing attention and without a flashy watch face. Plus, you have to love the price tag.

3. Shenzhen Sentai Sandalwood
This Sentai is made from beautiful walnut wood. While most of the timepieces on this list feature a simple design, this one may be the cleanest. With a face that matches the whole watch in color tone, this is a sleek and clean look that works on any wrist.
It also comes in this cool Red Sandalwood color, which is very unique. If you’re looking to go for a more bold look but like this Sentai, give that Red Sandalwood a try.

4. Tempus Willoughby
Moving away from wooden bands, we have the Tempus Willoughby. Straight up, I love this watch; a lot.
I’m a huge fan of ribbon band timepieces, they’re super light and really comfortable. This combo of a wooden watch body and blue face is really distinct but I think it works.
I love this look of the simple dial, no numbers but a three-hand setup. Big fan.

5. Uwood Eco Friendly Sandal Wood
Last but far from least, Uwood’s beautiful two-time timepiece. Again, simple and similar in style to the CUCOL Afternoon above but featuring a different bezel and hands.
This watch is made with all natural sandalwood and stainless steal clasp, so outside of soaking it in too much water/beer it should take a beating and literally keep on ticking.
