2020 has been sh*t. But Moderna might help mankind end the year on a high note.

Moderna announced that it will move forward to the third phase of testing its COVID-19 vaccination, called the mRNA-1273. Sounds sexy. The biotech company stated its vaccine produced a very positive response in the early stage human trial, in which forty five people were tested. We’ll get into more of the details below.

$MRNA rose 16% in afterhours.

So, this is good?

Yes, brainiac, this is very good.

In the early stage trial, patients were divided into three groups of fifteen, with each group either receiving a 25, 100, or 250 microgram dose. *Phish fans have entered the chat*

The vaccine produced a ‘robust’ immune response in all patients for all microgram amounts after two doses, with the data showing that the 100 microgram dose is the best choice forward. In the 250 microgram dose, the levels of neutralizing antibodies in patients were four times that of recovering coronavirus patients.

Of course, like anything worth injecting into your body the vaccine comes with a handful of side effects, like fatigue, muscle aches… and NOT GETTING THE F*CKING CORONAVIRUS.

In the third phase of testing, set to begin July 27, the vaccine will be tested by 30k people to demonstrate if it is able to significantly reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19. A lot of poor college students about to make a deal with the devil for like $25.

The bottom line…

To make matters better, Eeyore himself, Dr. Fauci, said he’s even “cautiously optimistic” that a vaccine can be delivered by early 2021. And while there was no timeline given by Moderna for delivering the vaccine to the masses, the US is targeting 300M doses of a vaccine for ‘rona boi by early next year.

Look for a big pop in the markets today, as investors will likely get way too excited about the news. Futures for the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P are up 0.1%, 0.5%, and 0.7% respectively.
