Rich People Spend 240 Minutes Per Day On These Things, Which Separates Them From All Those Common Folk

According to Tom Corley, his research shows that rich people spend 240 minutes per day on these things that help lead to success

Ever wonder what rich people do that makes them more successful than most average Joes? Probably, because, well, we all want to know how to retire rich, right? Because of that, there are plenty of times I know where I find myself wondering what I’m doing wrong each day when compared to those who (seemingly) are living life right. Like, what are these people doing to get wealthy that I’m not? Is it that they inherited the money? Are they generating more passive income?

We finally have some insight thanks to a new survey from author Tom Corley, who, per CNBC/Make It, interviewed 233 wealthy individuals and 128 poor individuals over three years to determine how the two compared. In what’s called the Rich Habits Study, Corley figured out that rich people often spend more time on just a few things each day that can lead to more wealth and success.

According to the results of his study, a simple 240 minutes separate the rich from the average or poor, with Corley identifying the below as the main differentiators.

  • Over 80 percent engaged in 60 minutes a day of dream-setting.
  • Nearly 80 percent engaged in 60 minutes a day of deliberate practice or education
  • Nearly all of them engaged in 30 minutes a day of aerobic exercise
  • Nearly 90 percent devoted 30 minutes a day to building rich relationships
  • All of them engaged in relaxation and leisure activities

After seeing Corley’s study results, every single one of us should have hope that we can get to where we want to be. Dream-setting a little bit each day is healthy. Learning something new each day is critical. Exercising to clear your mind and find balance is super important. Setting limits helps eliminate burnout. These are all things we should be doing regardless of how much money we have in our bank account.

While it’s important to understand the habits of rich people, remember that it’s impossible to completely duplicate somebody else’s routine. Some of the world’s most renowned leaders swear by waking up before 5 a.m., while others can accomplish everything with a typical 9-to-5 schedule. More importantly, just because you do follow successful tips doesn’t always mean they’re going to work and lead to similar results. Like everything in life, you need to figure out what works best for you.

Go forth and make the most out of each day you have, guys. We all get the same 1,440 minutes in a day, so how you spend those minutes can mean the difference between being average and being super successful. So take it from a bunch of rich people and change your habits to build a better life for yourself.
