Johnnie Walker Just Dropped A Brand New, Very Rare Scotch Whisky That’s $399

If you’re in the market for a couple of solid scotches for the holidays, Cass just rounded up some of the best mid-shelf options out there in the marketplace. Those are all great gifts. But, let’s say you had an *exceptional* 2017: You became a Bitcoin millionaire, you got engaged, you closed that big deal, you got the promotion you long deserved, etc. You need to toast the holidays this year with a liquor that’s just as exceptional.

Insert the newest bottle of Johnnie Walker: Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare, the latest limited edition release that’s a shelf above your grandad’s Johnnie Walker Blue.

According to Johnnie Walker, this is the first in a series of special releases from Johnnie Walker Master Blender Dr. Jim Beveridge. He used “irreplaceable” whiskies from so-called “ghost” “Scotch whisky distilleries that have long since closed, together with other rare malt and grain whiskies.” In particular, the blended scotch includes grain whisky from Cambus and single malt from Pittyvaich. There are also scotches from Clynelish, Royal Lochnagar, Glenkinchie, Glenlossie, and Cameronbridge in the blend, according to Forbes.

So what’s it taste like? Smooth, smokey liquid perfection:

The blend has a wonderfully smooth taste with the sweetness of pineapple, rich notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate, and subtle smoky finish.

It’s $399.99 per bottle and, like all wonderful things, available for a limited time only.
