Mother Of Jim Carrey’s Ex-Girlfriend Says She Will Drop Wrongful Death Lawsuit If He Can Prove He Didn’t Have Any STDs

The public battle between Jim Carrey and his deceased ex-girlfriend’s family has been an ugly one over the past few weeks. First Carrey was sued by Cathriona White’s estranged husband for illegally providing her drugs. Then the family filed a lawsuit claiming that White contracted STDs from the actor, including Herpes Type I, Herpes Type 2 and Gonorrhea. A haunting letter from White before her suicide painted Carrey in an even worse light given the allegations: “…I am damaged. I am disgusting. When I shower I feel sick. Getting turned on…what’s that? Certainly not something that happens (to) me any more. I will always be damaged goods and have a stigma attached.” That was followed by some even weirder text messages.

Thought a lawyer, Carrey vowed to defend his honor in the lawsuit, more or less accusing the family of lying. Now his family is drawing the ultimate line in the sand: If Carrey can prove that he didn’t have any STDs, they’ll drop the lawsuit. via The Daily Mail:

“Jim Carrey and his attorney have told the world that Carrey has never had STDs and he has never tested positive for STDs. They have called me and Mark [Burton, White’s estranged husband] “shams” for claiming otherwise, said Sweetman in a statement.

“I am demanding they immediately release the full 2013 lab results so people can judge for themselves who is telling the truth and who is lying.

“If they publicly release and publish the full Quest Diagnostics lab report for the blood sample Carrey gave on January 28, 2013 at 11:40 a.m. under the name ‘Jose Lopez’ and if it shows Carrey did not test positive for STDs, I will immediately dismiss the case and apologize.”

It’s going to be interesting to see how this now gets settled. Quietly? Or very, loudly and very ugly? Your move, Jim
