It’s really unfortunate that pit bulls have gotten such a bad reputation in the past few years (I blame the musician of the same name). This unfavorable reputation could have come into being due to aggressive owners who don’t know how to properly take care of their pet.
Stories like this help emphasize the idea that there are no ‘bad’ or ‘good’ breeds when dealing with dogs. This is out of Georgia, where a stray pooch came across a conflict. According to the NY Daily News:
“A stray pit bull named Hero is on the mend after he was stabbed five times while saving a Georgia woman from a brutal attacker.
The brave pooch was wandering the small town of Baldwin when he saw a man and woman fighting in the street. When the man whipped out a knife, Hero intervened.
The quick-acting pup barely survived the outburst of violence.”
This is the first time I’ve teared up at a video about a dog since I watched that movie with Frankie Muniz and the dog when I was a kid. Thankfully, the pit bull was brought to a nearby vet who was able to bring the pup back from the brink.
This brave pup is up for adoption at the Bullys Pit Bull Rescue in Tennessee.
