It’s safe to say that Adam Sandler is in his comfort zone filming his new movie involving the game of basketball called ‘Hustle.’ Sandler is a big hoops fan and loves showing up to random pickup games, and a game in the park seems to make up at least one scene in the movie.

It’s not just a pickup game with a bunch of unknown extras, however, Sandler called up a few Sixers to feature in the film. The comedy legend recently told Dan Patrick that Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, Matisse Thybulle, Tyrese Maxey, and even head coach Doc Rivers make an appearance in the movie.

Pictures also showed Juancho Hernangómez, who was recently traded from Minnesota to Memphis, filming a scene with Sandler in Philadelphia. Filming has been taking place all over the City of Brotherly Love for quite a while now.

Back in June, The Sandman said he was looking for “highly-skilled” basketball players as extras, with open tryouts being held in Deleware in July. It would be interesting to know that if these extras that showed up to the tryouts knew they’d probably be filming a scene with a bunch of NBA players.

There’s no telling how much fun Sandler and everyone involved had filming these scenes with Sixers on some random court in Philadelphia. I bet Sandler was giving it his all in his baggy t-shirt and shorts and just having the time of his life, as per usual.

‘Hustle’ won’t hit theatres, instead, it will be featured on Netflix. While there isn’t an official release date just yet, a Sandler movie involving basketball sounds like one to keep an eye on.
