New York Woman Goes To A Bar. Then She Tries To Apple Pay Tab With Her Ex’s American Express Card—And Can’t Believe It Works: ‘This Is How I Break No Contact’

A woman has gone viral after her friend appears to use her ex’ situationship’s American Express card in a bar via Apple Pay. Naturally, the TikTok sparked a lot of debate.

The viral video depicts a woman seemingly using an American Express card on her Apple Pay app at a bar. It has garnered 851,300 views. She appears to pray and then celebrate when the payment goes through. She and Enisa Johnson (@ejthedj1999) then shake hands before both down their drinks. The final shot depicts the woman dancing with a framed photo of an unidentified man.

The TikTok was made and edited as part of a trend where users edit certain situations as if they were a horror film. Foreboding music played in the background. In turn, the on-screen text read: “Editing my friend trying to use her blocked ex situationship’s card at the bar like a horror movie.”

Many question whether American Express cards impress women, and clearly, by allegedly using her ex’s AmEx card, this person is taking this theory to another level.

Were People On Her Side?

There were two firm camps in response to this TikTok. Some endorsed the purported actions, and those who didn’t.

“This is how I break no contact,” one quipped.

“I know a baddie when I see one,” a second added.

While a third wrote, “As I would do too, and am not sorry because us queens need to stay up and need to have the best time ever always because we deserve it.”

Meanwhile, a fourth said, “Yeah that’s a crime.”

“Now time to call the police,” a fifth commented.

Elsewhere, a sixth comment read, “The phone call after is never as fun.”

Was She Allowed To Use The Card?

In an Instagram direct message exchange with BroBible, the TikToker said she thought the situation was funny to post.

“I think there’s a new wave of feminism that encourages f—- men over for, a lack of better term. The discourse in the comments is hilarious re the amount of men who are so ready to call me trashy or say I’ll get arrested,” she said.

She continued, “For context, the guy whose card was used made her an authorized user, it was a one-time thing and he kind of did her dirty. He was also the kind of guy who made his whole personality money. The guys defending him in the comments would hate him if they actually knew the kind of person he was. As in he’s not hurting haha. A lot of men want to reduce their entire existence to their net worth. Then it’s outlandish when we do it back.”

Man Uses Ex-Girlfriend’s Credit Card For Gym Membership

A similar scenario played out on TikTok last year, but there were a few more twists to the tale. Essentially, TikToker Ashley Scala lip-synced to Cardi B’s song “Pretty & Petty.” As she did this, on-screen text read: “My boyfriend’s crazy ex called our gym to cancel his membership. But jokes on her, we were planning to switch gyms, and she just saved us from paying the cancellation fee.” The video was seemingly filmed in a gym bathroom.

However, she and her boyfriend ended up being humbled. The “crazy ex,” Gabriella Dellolio (@gabrielladellolio), stitched their video and said that things weren’t that simple.

She claimed she discovered that her ex’s gym membership had been charged to her card for the past two years. Allegedly, when she called the gym to remove it, they said that they couldn’t remove the card. Instead, they purportedly had to cancel his membership.

“That’s why his membership got canceled,” she concluded.

“You obviously need it, and I’m so happy for you guys that I saved you money,” she quipped in reference to the $25 cancellation fee.
