One thing we know about birds is that they are one of the most resilient creatures on planet Earth. After all, they managed to survive the cataclysmic asteroid that obliterated the dinosaurs back in the day.

For that reason and others, something that happened recently in China has caused people to question whether the end of the world is near.

In what some people are comparing to the apocalypse, hundreds of birds were caught on video dropping dead out of the sky.

In the video, the flock of swallows can be seen flying erratically and in circles above buildings in Laibin, in the southern region of Guangxi in China.

According to The Sun, it has been speculated that the birds, which fly south to warmer climates in winter, may have died due to freezing temperatures.

Even if that turns out to be true, it is still unclear why so many of the swallows seemed to die at the same time.

In China, some people associate dead birds with messages from ancestors, warning about the upcoming death of a loved one, so hundreds of birds all dying at the same time caused quite a shock.

Some Native Americans also interpret dead birds as bad omens similar to the belief in Chinese culture.

Christians often see dead birds as a warning sign from God about some impending disaster.

So if you see a dead bird, you might want to be more vigilant and/or start doing some things to back in your God’s good graces.

As for what it means when a bird is caught on camera completely motionless in mid-air? Well, that’s just the work of the devil.

Interestingly, this is not the first time something as strange as dead birds just falling out of the sky has happened.

In 2022, hundreds of birds in Mexico mysteriously plummeted from the sky dead before they hit the ground.

And in a similarly bizarre incident in 2019, hundreds of birds smashed into the NASCAR Hall of Fame building for over an hour in what looked like a scene from a horror film.

Thankfully, neither of those events resulted in the apocalypse… yet.
