Man Uses Numerology To Predict The World Cup’s Round Of 32. Is He Off To A Strong Start?

The World Cup is one of the most gambled-upon games across the globe.

In early June, the BBC reported that the 2026 FIFA World Cup was expected to have $50 billion in wagers placed globally. This is an increase from the $35 billion wagered during the 2022 World Cup.

Given just how much money is riding on these games, it’s no surprise that people are looking for any way to guess the winners. Now, a user on TikTok has sparked discussion with his own method for determining the games’ outcomes: astrology and numerology.

What Does This Numerologist Say About The World Cup?

In a video with over 201,000 views, TikToker and numerologist SkyraSports (@skyrasports) explains his theories for which teams are going to win. How does he do it? According to him, it’s through the power of “numerology and astrology.”

To start, he says that “clearly Germany is going through” over Paraguay. Then, he chooses France over Sweden, noting that this prediction is unclear and a “wild card.” Following this, he proceeds to make a host of other predictions: Canada over South Africa, the Netherlands over Morocco, Portugal over Croatia, Spain over Austria, the United States over Bosnia, and Senegal over Belgium.

After that, he makes some predictions he says are “less clear.” These include Brazil over Japan, Norway over Ivory Coast, Mexico over Ecuador, England over the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Argentina over Cabo Verde, Egypt over Australia, Switzerland over Algeria, and Colombia over Ghana.

“This is, according to my view, after analyzing the astrology and numerology, how things will go,” he summarizes. “I generally have a higher hit rate of, more or less—last year I did have 88%. So, of that 16 matches, I should be getting at least 13 to 14, right? So, we’ll see about that. Let’s get it.”

How Are His Predictions Going?

Not great.

Of the four games that have been played since he posted his video, he has made only two correct calls: Canada over South Africa and Brazil over Japan. Paraguay eliminated Germany, winning 4-3 on penalties after 1-1, and Morocco similarly beat the Netherlands 3-2 on penalties after 1-1.

While this is too small a sample size to judge his success rate, right now, his numerology and astrology-based predictions are doing no better than a coin flip. However, he’s not the only one finding unorthodox ways to predict the games.

For example, Gulf News’ “Shawk the hawk”—who is an actual hawk—has an impressive track record for predictions. The agency claims that, during the group stage, he got only one of 12 predictions outright incorrect, and has even surpassed major odds calculators in his accuracy. Other news agencies have noted additional animals with impressive predictive abilities, such as a goldfish named Swimbappe and a one-year-old cat named Billy.

How Can You Predict World Cup Games?

Simply put, there’s no good way to predict who is going to win a FIFA World Cup match. While one can look at past games as an indicator of future performance, there’s always a chance of an upset—such as Paraguay’s recent win over Germany.

In the comments section of this video, users shared their views on which teams were going to win and which were, in their minds, almost certain to lose. There was little consistency across the comments, with each side fiercely defending their positions regarding the best and worst teams.

However, given the failure of SkyraSports—or whatever star or number charts he was reading—to predict the games, it’s fair to say that looking to the night sky is not the best path to World Cup prediction success.
