The Highest Grossing Movie Of All-Time Is Now Available On Digital Platforms

While it took a little re-release creativity, Marvel Studios can now lay claim to the highest-grossing movie of all-time, as Avengers: Endgame has racked in almost $2.8 billion at the box office since being released in late April, just barely scraping by Avatar.

Now, just a little more than three months after the film was released in theaters across the United States, Avengers: Endgame and its massive three-hour runtime have been released on digital.

Officially, Avengers: Endgame was released at midnight EST / 9 p.m. PST.

Following their overtaking of Avatar as the highest-grossing film of all-time, Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn released the following statement congratulating the Marvel Studios team:

“A huge congratulations to the Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios teams, and thank you to the fans around the world who lifted Avengers: Endgame to these historic heights.

Of course, even with the passage of a decade, the impact of James Cameron’s Avatar remains as powerful as ever, and the astonishing achievements of both of these films are ongoing proof of the power of movies to move people and bring them together in a shared experience.

The talented filmmakers behind these worlds have much more in store, and we look forward to the future of both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Pandora.”

After Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Homecoming was released in early July and marked the end of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Following their epic Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con a couple of weeks ago, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans now know what to expect in Phase 4, with the Scarlett Johansson and David Harbour starring Black Widow set to kick off the fourth phase of the MCU on May 1, 2020.

After the release of Black Widow, the Richard Madden and Angelina Jolie-starring film Eternals — who are making their debut in the MCU — will hit theaters in November of 2020.
