Bernie Sanders appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast this week and outlined his ideas for his presidential campaign. The intriguing interview included many important discussions on critical issues facing this country such as universal health care, minimum wage, gun control and free college. There was also a curious conversation about marijuana legalization as well as UFOs and aliens where Bernie Sanders made a very unique campaign pledge.
On Tuesday, the Democratic presidential candidate promised that if he becomes President of the United States and he learns of the existence of alien or UFO information, Sanders said he will tell the American people about any extraterrestrial secrets.
Rogan: “If you got into the office and you found out something about aliens, if you found out something about UFOs, would you let us know?”
Sanders: “Well I tell you, my wife would demand I let you know.”
Rogan: “Is your wife a UFO nut?”
Sanders: “No, she’s not a UFO nut. She goes, Bernie, ‘What is going on do you know? Do you have any access?’”
Rogan: “You don’t have any access? You’ll let us know though?”
Sanders: “Alright, we’ll announce it on the show. How’s that?”

Apparently, the Vermont Senator also wants to “see them aliens.” UFOs and aliens have been on the minds of Americans especially in recent weeks after the “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us” Facebook event went viral.
Joe Rogan is no stranger to exploring alien conspiracy theories. Last month, the comedian turned podcasting king interviewed Bob Lazar, a man who claims to have been a secret U.S. government employee who worked on an alien spacecraft at Area 51.
The self-proclaimed Democratic socialist also talked about legalizing marijuana on a federal level and discussed his experience with smoking weed.
Sen. Bernie Sanders said that he is open to legalizing marijuana on a federal level. He pointed out that under the federal law Controlled Substance Act that marijuana is labeled as just as dangerous as a drug as heroin. Sanders believes that marijuana is much safer than heroin. The 2020 Democratic presidential candidate was not open to legalizing all drugs.
Bernie Sanders said that while he was “not a big fan of drugs,” he did admit that he had smoked weed before.
“I’ve smoked marijuana a couple of times, it didn’t do much for me,” Sanders told Rogan. “Other people, I guess, it had different impacts.”
“Just a couple times? It didn’t do much for you?” Rogan asked.
“Yeah, it made me cough,” Sanders replied and said that he got the weed in northern Vermont.
“That’s the problem — you have to get it from here,” Joe told Bernie. “It’ll do something for you.”
“Well, it made me cough a whole lot, but I gather other people have had different experiences,” Sanders said.
Unfortunately, Bernie did not lit up during the podcast like Elon Musk did. Smoking weed and alien secrets, you can’t say that Joe Rogan doesn’t stay on brand.
