No indoor venue in entertainment history has ever gone as viral as the ‘Sphere’ in Las Vegas. It has captivated the entire world through mind-blowing images and videos on social media.

If you think that the Sphere is an internet sensation now, just wait until the next performer is announced. Beyonce might be next in line to take over for U2 after the rock band’s residency ends in February.

According to the New York Post, James Dolan has been in contact with Queen Bey’s team. Dolan, who also owns the Knicks and Rangers through MSG Sports, also serves as CEO of Sphere Entertainment.

He has reportedly pitched Beyonce on a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Both her mom/manager Tina Knowles and husband Jay-Z have taken tours of the $2.3 billion venue. They did so separately on two different occasions, which means that the interest must be pretty serious.

With a capacity of 18,000, the Sphere auditorium stands 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide. All of the images are displayed in 18K on the world’s largest LED screen, which is about the size of four football fields. A whopping 164,000 surround-sound speakers make up the audio system.

Although the Sphere only opened at the end of September, it is already sold-out through mid-February. U2 received about $10 million to launch the Sphere. Beyonce is said to have asked a similar number, which may not work because the venue itself makes very little money from concert tickets.

As things currently stand, Beyonce does not have any shows scheduled for next year. She wrapped her ‘Renaissance World Tour’ last month. That would allow her to takeover the Sphere as soon as it becomes available, if a deal is to come to fruition.

Dolan wants Beyonce, but his options are open. He has already pitched Harry Styles. Lady Gaga is very much in the mix. Bon Jovi and Paul McCartney are also in consideration.

The Sphere plans to host two additional residencies during the first half of 2024. Beyonce may be one of them, but her price tag may lead to some hesitation. Stay tuned!
