Despite the fact that Bradley Cooper is largely a serious director these days thanks to his work on his films A Star Is Born and Maestro, the 48-year-old superstar certainly hasn’t forgotten where he came from.

During a recent appearance on the New Yorker Radio Hour to promote the release of Maestro, which is expected to be a Best Picture nominee, Cooper revealed that he’d make a fourth film in The Hangover franchise “in an instant.

“I would probably do Hangover 4 in an instant. Just because I love Todd [Phillips, the director], I love Zach [Galifianakis], I love Ed [Helms] so much, I probably would,” Cooper said.

Unfortunately, though, Cooper followed that up by saying he doesn’t think that Todd Phillips, who is currently working on his sequel to Joker, would ever return to the franchise.

“I don’t think Todd is ever going to do that,” he said.

Released in 2009, The Hangover became one of the defining comedies of the 2000s and helped turn Cooper into an A-lister. The original grossed $469 million against a $35 million budget.

The sequels, The Hangover Part II and The Hangover Part III, were both significantly less well-received and equally as profitable, as the pair of films made over $948 million against a combined budget of $185 million.

It’s now been a decade since The Hangover series was in action, as Part III was released in 2013. In addition to Cooper, the franchise also stars Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Ken Jeong, and Justin Bartha.

As for Cooper’s Maestro, which hit limited theaters last week, the film will begin streaming on Netflix on December 20. Alongside Cooper as Leonard Bernstein, Maestro — which was produced by Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg — also stars Carey Mulligan as Bernstein’s wife, Felicia Montealegre.

Maya Hawke. Matt Bomer, and Sarah Silverman also have roles in the project, which is projected as being a major contender at next year’s Academy Awards.
