Costco shoppers noticed Callaway products disappear after backlash over a controversial Good Good golf ad, and some members are celebrating.

Costco has gained a fierce new wave of support amid backlash over a golf equipment ad involving two popular golf brands.

A controversial ad for a golf driver released by golf equipment company Callaway and golf media brand Good Good has put both companies under fire among the general public, the media, and their business collaborators.

The video ad in question was meant to promote the Callaway Quantum Max Good Good Driver. However, critics condemned it for depicting imagery akin to violence against women.

Filmed on a golf course, it features Good Good co-founder Garrett Clark and golfing personality Alexis Miestowski. When Miestowski approaches Clark’s driver, he aggressively runs toward her and pushes her to the ground. Then he menacingly tells her, “Do not touch my new driver.”

The ad was taken down shortly after the backlash started pouring in, but the consequences have kept piling on.

As of Aug. 28, 2026, Callaway has terminated its partnership with Good Good. Dick’s Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, and other retailers have pulled Good Good merchandise, and Golf Channel canceled the entire 2026 season of the TV Show “Big Break x Good Good.”

Where Does Costco Fit In Here?

The backlash has primarily affected Good Good, but Costco shoppers noticed something concerning Callaway: Costco has seemingly removed all Callaway listings from its online store.

Costco has not publicly said why the listings are gone. However, given the timing, members assumed the move was connected to the controversy.

One Costco member, Haley Pepper, showed her support in a recent Facebook Reel. In the clip, she films herself wheeling a shopping cart into Costco with her two kids in tow.

“Spending the day giving Costco all of my money because they agree with the apparently radical opinion that violence towards women isn’t worth selling a golf club so immediately pulled all Callaway products from their stores,” she wrote over the video.

“Hey Costco I love you,” Pepper added in the caption. Her video was viewed over 2.2 million views.

There is one important detail to note, however. Fact-checking publication Snopes looked into the reports and couldn’t confirm that Callaway merchandise had disappeared from every physical Costco warehouse in addition to online stores.

BroBible has reached out to Costco to inquire about the disappearance of Callaway products and for comment.

Viewers Wholeheartedly Agree

Whether Costco intended to make a statement or not, Pepper’s viewers were ready to reward the retailer for it.

“I was going let my membership lapse since I’m an empty nester and didn’t use it enough. Guess I’m keeping it now and I can keep buying chocolate covered almonds in bulk,” one commenter wrote.

Another viewer found their own way to show Costco some appreciation.

“Went to get my glasses repaired and bought $70 of alcohol just to show some love,” they wrote.

“OK OK I’ll continue my membership and stop by for another 5 year supply of almonds and $300 of other stuff,” another added.

One shopper even claimed they had actually witnessed Callaway products being removed.

“I saw them putting callaway in the back and wondered what it was about until I saw the ad!” they wrote.

BroBible has also reached out to Pepper, Callaway, and Good Good for comment and additional information.
