TMZ is reporting that Christopher McDonald, best known for playing everyone’s favorite sports villain Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore, was arrested for DUI. Allegedly, McDonald was driving in the Lake Arrowhead area of San Bernardino County in California on Saturday at 9 PM. McDonald reportedly drove his silver Porsche into an embankment and took out a gas meter. The collision caused damage to the car’s front passenger side, which TMZ offers a photo.
An eyewitness claims that when police officers were questioning McDonald, the Hollywood actor attempted to play the celebrity card and told the cops that he was in Happy Gilmore to try to get out of the ticket. Which is better than him saying, “Just stay out of my way or you’ll pay, listen to what I say.” The police must have not been big Adam Sandler fans because they arrested McDonald. Shooter was brought to jail until he sobered up and was released without bail. “I tell you, the real winner today is the jail of San Bernadino. Every time I come here it gets harder to leave. I bet you put something to the water.”
This is Shooter’s second drunk driving charge. McDonald was arrested in 2013 for DWI in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he blew .15, nearly double the legal limit. That’s two thus far, Shooter.
